The Aery series has set a low bar for itself, and in aiming to perch on that bar, it screws the landing and ploughs headfirst into it. Squawk! - down it goes.
There is a good game, a compelling game even, fighting to get out of War Mongrels, but it is buried under a pile of duff controls and absurd difficulty.
City Limits is very chill, and whilst that shouldn’t be a substitute for the word ‘boring’, it isn’t very good either. With limited scope and limited gameplay, the only thing elongating it are laborious achievements.
If you’ve been lured in by the cat, then you should probably know that Neko Rescue Tale has all the worst aspects of one. It gives you a false sense of security by looking cute, curling up in your lap. But once you start playing with it, the claws come out, as poor level design, collision detection, platforming and - most of all - combat all cause blood to flow.
Fundamentally flawed, Filthy Animals: Heist Simulator will struggle to hold your attention - it is frustrating rather than entertaining, no matter how many of you are playing at once.
We’re not angry, we’re just disappointed. But we’ll let Puzzle By Nikoli W off: they’ve nailed so many puzzle games in the past that we’ll forgive them one stinker. Because that’s what Puzzle By Nikoli W Numberlink ultimately is: an unsatisfying meander into trial-and-error that leaves a bad smell in the nostrils.Â
With its actual mission and objective based gameplay, Dragon Pinball may just be the best pinball game yet from Super PowerUP Games. But based on what has come before it, that isn’t really a compliment.
If you are desperate for a roguelike game, I’m pretty sure there are hundreds out there that are better than EvilUP. Avoidance is my heartfelt advice.
