Get dashing and dodging in Excessive Trim on Xbox

We may have spent time obsessing over the cleanest of lines in Lawn Mowing Simulator, but today that grass cutting is taken to all new levels. Yep, Excessive Trim is on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Available right now as the latest Eastasiasoft release is Excessive Trim. It’s priced around the usual price of any such games, running a cost of just £4.19 from the Xbox Store. From there you can get playing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s optimised for those latter consoles too.

Space-edged grass cutting

Also present on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, in Excessive Trim you’ll get the chance to take in some more grass cutting – just this time you’ll be in a little buzzsaw saucer as you wreck havoc across farmland. Clarkson will not be happy as you skim the surface, stripping back the undergrowth and working your way through cattle, all in hope of gathering up the most precious of all commodities – leaves.

Working as a 3D vertically scrolling slice ’em up, with a very distinct artstyle, Excessive Trimmakes the most of procedurally generated stages in order to keep things fresh. With upgrades on the table and high scores to chase, this could well be the most exciting grass cutter to ever release on console.

Key features of Excessive Trim on Xbox

  • Dash, dodge and use a buzzsaw-like flying saucer to survive tricky scrolling stages!
  • Mow through crops, farmers and livestock in a trail of extraterrestrial mayhem.
  • Avoid collisions with hazardous obstacles while collecting precious leaves!
  • Shop for upgrades along the way to survive and wreak maximum havoc.
  • Customize the experience with a variety of 3-tone color palettes.
  • Enjoy a unique pseudo-retro visual style of vertical scrolling parallax layers!

Play now!

You’ll find Excessive Trim on the Xbox Store. Grab it now and play on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Stay tuned for our full review. We’ll let you know how this one plays.

Excessive Trim on Xbox Game Description

Wreak havoc through backwater farmlands as a pothead alien with a buzzsaw flying saucer!

Take flight as a blunt-smokin’ alien in a buzzsaw saucer as he terrorizes farms and recklessly grinds through herds of livestock! Excessive Trim is a pseudo-3D vertical scrolling slice ’em up presented in stark black, white and red 3-tone pixel art. Take control of your circular bladed UFO and try to survive while you collect precious leaves.

Perform dashes to buzz through lines of stampeding cattle, avoid farm machinery, zip between trees and rock formations, cut down angry agriculturalists and more! Tag specific dash points for bonus leaves. Find backwater shops where you can choose between upgrades to give you more health or grant multipliers. But watch out! There’s always bound to be a tradeoff. Survive as long as you can through a procedurally generated stage loop, shoot for the high score and change your color palette to customize the experience.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
