If you wanted proof that there aren’t enough hours in the day, look to today’s Xbox Game Pass releases. We’re getting two games, released on a single day, that could fill several weeks of play by themselves. We’re not entirely sure what Microsoft expect us to do.
New to Game Pass today is Forza Horizon 5 (PC, Console and Cloud) and Football Manager 2022 (PC, Console and Cloud) . These are (virtually) day one releases, with Forza Horizon 5 admittedly launching on the Xbox Store a few days prior via the Premium Edition.
If you had to pick a highlight, it’s Forza Horizon 5. On Game Pass you’re getting the Standard Edition, which – trust us – is more than enough, but there are digital extras available from the Microsoft Store. What you’re getting is the near-entirety of Mexico, garage-loads of beautifully rendered cars, and the freedom to drive round it as you see fit. Our review is incoming, but – sneak peek – our reviewer Paul Renshaw has already been whispering “just buy it” in our ear and through our podcast whenever he gets a chance. We get it on Game Pass, Paul. That’ll do.
Football Manager 2022: Console Edition would have been the highlight of any other week. This is SEGA’s latest iteration of the football management sim du jour, and it’s seen its visuals updated, its AI refactored, and there’s more of an accent on modern tactics like the gegenpress. You’ll need to run the media gauntlet too, without accidentally spouting something about seagulls and sardines.
Also coming out for Game Pass in November are Dicey Dungeons (11th November on Console, PC and Cloud), Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition (11th November on Console) and One Step from Eden (11th November on Console and PC).
And the following games are due to be punted from Game Pass on November 15th: Final Fantasy VIII HD, Planet Coaster, Star Renegades, Streets of Rogue, The Gardens Between and River City Girls.
So, you have two choices: which of today’s Game Pass offerings are you going to pick? Let us know in the comments below
