We knew it was on the cards but finally Team17 have confirmed a Genesis Alpha One new release date – and it’ll be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC before you know it.
Developed by Radiation Blue, a Germany-based indie creator, Genesis Alpha One will be releasing with the power of Team17 behind it on Xbox One, PS4 and the Epic Games Store for PC come January 29th 2019. Yes, that is some way past the original September 2018 launch that was planned, but we’ll not worry too much about that.
It is available for pre-purchase right now – and should you do so you’ll get access to the Rocket Star Corporation content pack with the UTS 15 shotgun, FBL Firebomb Launcher, AsVal automatic rifle, and Kugelblitz energy weapon. Genesis Alpha One mixes roguelike mechanics with deep ship building and fast first-person action, putting you in the role of an interstellar pioneer. This is all set in a near future ravaged by wars, corrupt regimes and devastating pollution, influential corporations have created the Genesis program in a last-ditch attempt to save humanity.
You play as the Captain of a Genesis starship, journeying into uncharted space on the ultimate mission. From here you’ll be left to build and manage a space vessel, exploring the galaxy for resources and interesting new lifeforms and experimenting with DNA and alien abilities as you clone new crew members. But why? Well, your goal is to find new homes for humanity’s DNA and save the species from extinction.
You’ll find that Genesis Alpha One will launch on Xbox One, PS4 and the Epic Games store for PC simultaneously on January 29th, 2019 priced at £24.99/$29.99/€29.99. There will also be a boxed version for console available worldwide.
