A couple of years on from the first announcement, we finally have confirmation of a Ghostrunner 2 release date. And with that comes a new trailer and the opportunity to get involved in a bit of a pre-ordering process.
Ghostrunner 2 – A new cyberpunk thriller
Ghostrunner 2 is the first person cyberpunky thriller from 505 Games and One More Level. It follows on from the acclaimed original Ghostrunner game, with focus on Jack, as they battle a violent AI cult.
It is set in the aftermath of the fall of the Keymaster, as you once again look to hone your skills as the ultimate cyber ninja. With non-linear levels, incredible katana-based combat and a ton of new skills, Ghostrunner 2 should be one that instantly appeals. That will be doubly true for those who found love in the first game.
A revamped progression system will be in place in Ghostrunner 2 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC too. As will a block and perfect parry system. In fact, it seems like 505 Games and One More Level are really pushing the boat out with what Ghostrunner 2 will be able to do.
A release date emerges
So when is Ghostrunner 2 coming? Well, the street release date is now set for October 26th 2023, with Ghostrunner 2 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam, Epic, GOG). There will be no love for old-gen consoles though an that means you won’t be able to play Ghostrunner 2 on Xbox One, for instance.
Ghostrunner 2 will release in a few editions too. The base game will be perfect for many, but you’ll also be able to ramp things up a bit. That will come in the form of the Deluxe Edition and Brutal Edition, with 48 hours early access present in the latter.
In all, the Ghostrunner 2 options are…
- Base Edition (£34.99, Digital and Physical) – Digital and physical preorders get the Traditional Katana Pack including two sword skins and two hand skins
- Deluxe Edition (£44.99, Digital) – Includes everything in the base edition, along with four additional hand skins, four extra sword skins, and a personalized hand hologram displaying their current username
- Brutal Edition (£64.99, Digital) – Includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, along with 48-hours of early access starting Tuesday, Oct. 24. Brutal Edition also comes with the Season Pass (worth £14.99, featuring a new Game Mode and four Asset Packs), Animated Skin (Sword/Hand), and Motorcycle Skin

You should be able to hit up your favourite digital stores to grab a pre-order of those editions from today. The Xbox Store will probably sort out many.
