We all remember the likes of Streets of Rage, Final Fight and Double Dragon where you would roam the streets at night pummelling those in your way. You are the good guys, remember, despite the trail of bloodshed and bodies you left behind. But what if this beat ‘em up brawler action took on a more horror-themed aesthetic? We’re not just talking playing as a boxing kangaroo either. We’re talking monsters, ghouls and things that go bump in the night. That is Night Slashers, and it is the latest game to launch in Antstream Arcade on Xbox.
The Kingdom of the Dead
In the world of Night Slashers, the Kingdom of the Dead has taken over. King Zarutz and his legions of undead monsters, werewolves, vampires and more must be stopped at all costs. Take control of one of three monster hunters across seven stages to stop the evil in its tracks.
Choose from: Jake Hunter – a brute with cybernetic arms; Christopher Smith – an English gentlemen with a background in martial arts; and Hong Hua Zhao – a Chinese martial artist with powerful fire attacks.
Either of the three will be able to power you through the seven stages taking on the hordes of undead. And with multiple endings, the only right thing to do is to take all three through the adventure and see each conclusion.
It isn’t all just wave after wave of monsters to brawl with though. Downtime can be had too in Night Slashers. How about a game of Undead Bowling or Whack-a-Zombie to provide some levity to things?
