max and the book of chaos xbox

Mysterious castles, magical books full of power, and open portals which see you given the opportunity to switch between multiple dimensions. Max and the book of chaos looks to have all the ingredients required of a hugely intriguing game. And luckily you can play it right now on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Created by Orenji Games and pushed out in terms of publishing rights by those at JanduSoft, Max and the book of chaos on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch promises much. Working as an arcade styled 2D action romp, that mixes in elements of the best run and gunners, and the classic mechanics of a good old shoot ’em up, on the face of it there is much to love.

A price point of £6.69 helps cement that love too, as you get given the opportunity to fall into the shoes of a kid who has the destiny of the world in his very hands. What plays out from there on out is an experience focused on disasters, and the chance to save the world and free your friends.

Max and the book of chaos is set in an old creepy castle, one that just so happens to play host to a summer school. And when you’ve got students involved, you know that all manner of chaos is going to kick off. That’s exactly what happens when a legendary old book is opened, seeing the world around invaded by hordes of chaotic enemies. There is only one person who can stop the onslaught – Max. And you.

Features of Max and the book of chaos on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch include:

  • One fast and simple mechanic: kill them all!
  • Great 2D artistic style completely drawn by hand.
  • Easy to play but hard to master.
  • Each stage has 6 levels of difficult.
  • The more friends the player rescue the more STARS he obtains.

So what do you think? Is this an adventure you can see yourself enjoying? You’ll find a download of Max and the book of chaos available on Xbox One from the Xbox Store. Alternatively grab it from the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop. The trailer below should give a little insight into how things play out, whilst our full upcoming review will detail things further.
