Legend continues with Dungeons of Shalnor and Xbox Play Anywhere

-

Dungeons of Shalnor
Dungeons of Shalnor is on Xbox

We’ve taken in the Legends of Shalnor previously, with the Trials of Thunder building on the original game. But now we’re going deeper than ever before – down into the depths with Dungeons of Shalnor.

The latest from Johnny Ostad, following on from Shalnor Legends and Shalnor Legends 2 is Dungeons of Shalnor. The exploration takes place on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, powered by Xbox Play Anywhere. That means you can purchase the game once, and then play it across Xbox and PC, taking saves with you.

Taking to the depths and dungeons?

It’s priced well too. Dungeons of Shalnor will only set you back £7.99, and that feels a price worth paying for a new tactical roguelike that lets us enjoy the world of Shalnor once more.

In Dungeons of Shalnor you’ll get to wander the corridors of a dark world, one that is powered by turn-based combat, regulated by roguelike mechanics as it goes. Don’t be afraid of that ‘roguelite’ term either – in Dungeons of Shalnor it’ll ensure you get the chance to head back in, time and time again, with permanent upgrades in place.

You’ll probably want those upgrade too. See, Dungeons of Shalnor is complete with traps and a whole plethora of monsters. With each move you – and they – make critical to navigation of these dungeons, you’ll want to be on your guard at all times. Can you make sense of the puzzle-like patterns of Dungeons of Shalnor? That’ll be the test you need…

Buy now!

Dungeons of Shalnor is on the Xbox Store. From there, it’s playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Remember, for the £7.99 asking price, you’ll be able to make the most of Xbox Play Anywhere too.

Dungeons of Shalnor Description

“An Eye for Immortality… What a terrible price to pay for such a terrible curse!” Dungeons of Shalnor is a tactical Roguelike game. It features a Turn-Based combat along with a “Turn the camera” mechanic that also turns all monsters and projectiles, causing interesting outcomes such as: Monsters walking into traps; or attacking one another. There are many different types of monsters, and each move and behave differently in puzzle-like patterns. Every time you die, your gold is transformed into Ghost Coins, which can be used to purchase permanent Upgrades in the Spirit Shop.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
