Having previously released on Nintendo Switch back in 2020, the cyberpunky comic book hybrid that is Liberated has now come to Xbox and PlayStation. And as it makes the move, it drops on some Enhanced Edition goodies for good measure.
Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5, Liberated: Enhanced Edition from Walkabout Games is an action adventure that takes place across the pages of a comic book. Cyberpunk in feel, it builds on the combination of hand-drawn graphic novel art with side-scrolling action, delivering something that should well feel new and fresh.
We say new and fresh but Liberated first hit Nintendo Switch back in 2020, so there’s a good chance you’ll have played it already. Now though, with launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5, players get the opportunity to hit up the Enhanced Edition, with ‘enhancements’ in terms of both gameplay and content, some full English voiceover work in place and two epilogue chapters kicking around – “For the Homeland” and “Glory to the Heroes”.
We’re currently working through Liberated: Enhanced Edition on Xbox Series X|S and will let you know how it plays out via review very soon. This is a game that is playable on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with the next-gen consoles having full optimisation. It’s also got good old Xbox Smart Delivery in tow, ensuring that the version of Liberated you are playing on your Xbox console is the finest for that machine.
Grab a download right now from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You’ll find it on PlayStation and Switch too. Expect to pay around £16.74.
Game Description:
Liberated is an action-adventure game that unfolds across the pages of a comic book. Seamlessly merging the art of hand-drawn graphic novels with interactivity and side-scrolling action, it’s a revolutionary combination of video games and comics. In this near-future dystopia, the eerily familiar always-online society gives way to complete government control—all in the name of safety. But in the midst of it all, an insurgent group known as “Liberated” rises.
