*UPDATE* – the release date for Morphite has now been put back to 20th September, 2017 for all platforms it’s scheduled to launch on.
If you fancy blasting off to the far reaches of space and are ready to mix some atmospheric exploration with a bit of platforming, then Morphite is the game for you… and today the release date has been confirmed.
Crescent Moon Games have today confirmed that Morphite will release on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, PC and iOS come 7th September 2017. It follows the tale of Myrah Kale, a young lady whose life takes a bit of a sudden turn. With humanity having colonized the furthest reaches of space, a routine mission that Kale embarks on turns into an adventure which reveals her mysterious past and connection to the coveted substance Morphite.
Taking charge of Myrah will see you heading to the furthest corners of space, all as you explore uncharted planets with diverse landscapes teeming with exotic flora and fauna. With your trusty scanner at hand, you’ll need to sell the biological information of organic lifeforms you come across, purchasing upgrades to your ship, suit and weapons in the process.
But Myrah’s journey won’t be an easy one as you’ll face random encounters in real-time combat, given the opportunity to trade with other space travellers and utilize an easy-to-use Starmap to navigate a galaxy full of hand-crafted worlds. A fully-voiced main story takes place as well as procedurally-generated planets brimming with side quests.
“Morphite is an atmospheric sci-fi shooter with inspiration drawn from classic console games including Ratchet and Clank, Metroid Prime and Turok,” said Ben Lee, CEO, Blowfish Studios. “With those roots, bringing Morphite to Nintendo Switchâ„¢, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is a natural fit, and we look forward to sharing our universe with everyone this September.”
We will of course remind you when the time comes to splash the cash on Morphite, but the trailer below should give you a little more info.
