Back in June 2017, the development team at LKA.it delivered The Town of Light to the masses. Today, a new video has been released, allowing us to discover how the crumbling psychiatric asylum was brought to life.
Covering a tricky subject, The Town of Light on Xbox One, PS4 and PC thrust us into an atmospheric world full of intriguing story and content. Set in an old asylum, we were left to navigate corridors, rooms and the grounds of the Ospedale Psichiatrico di Volterra, a once fully operational asylum.
In the haunting behind the scenes video ‘Building The Town of Light’, LKA.it explores the asylum, its surroundings and the emotional scars it left upon its inhabitants, highlighting how it was digitally restored for the award winning, first-person psychological adventure game. Discussion points include the challenges of development, the endeavor’s jarring subject matter, and how the importance of the narrative meant LKA.it were determined to overcome anything to deliver one of the most compelling stories of recent times.
