Can you navigate the terrors of Reverie: Sweet As Edition?

Legendary developers Eastasiasoft are back once again, offering up the opportunity of a lifetime. Fancy reversing your childhood holiday, and saving an island in the midst of a monstrous invasion? Enter, Reverie: Sweet As Edition on Xbox, PlayStation and PC!

A Paranormal Threat

Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC fronts, Reverie: Sweet As Edition is a top-down action-adventure title that immediately reminds us of the twisty dungeons of The Binding of Isaac.

This is an uber-updated edition of the original title that was brought to PS Vita and PS4 back in 2018. And yes, the Sweet As Edition is already being enjoyed by Switch users.

You’ll be playing as young Tai, who must curtail their summer holiday to rescue the residents of Toromi Island from restless spirits tormenting them. Reverie is inspired by the mythos of Maui and the Giant Fish, with an abundance of references to such within this fictional Kiwi island.

Along the way, you’ll be equipping Tai with a number of weapons and items to both solve puzzles, and dispose of the multitude of enemies calling the dungeons their home.

Updated Action

There is a plethora of content and quality of life updates littered across Reverie: Sweet As Edition on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. In fact, it’s those that make this form of the game the best to play through.

You’ve got the inclusion of a Nightmare difficulty mode to contend with, if you so wish. But there’s also the quick select item wheel that will surely come in handy as you attempt to navigate the dungeons most efficiently.

Key Features:

  • Six dungeons to fight and puzzle your way through.
  • Use unique weapons and items to solve puzzles and defeat menacing bosses.
  • Explore varied environments and find the secrets of Toromi Island.
  • Collect hidden feathers from New Zealand’s many beautiful native birds.
  • Story inspired by a Maori legend.
  • Nightmare Difficulty Mode
  • New Mini-game
  • Updated Sprites
  • 120 FPS Mode
  • Quick Select Item Wheel
  • Stamp System (in-game trophy system equivalent)
  • Additional NPC Dialogue

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
