New sci-fi action RPG, anyone? Finish Line Games have revealed Robots at Midnight. And it’s coming to Xbox and PC in 2024.
Unveiled during the latest Golden Joystick Awards, Robots at Midnight from Finish Line Games will be looking to launch in 2024. When it does so it’ll be found playable across Xbox Series X|S and PC. All as players are thrust into an expansive new world.
A new 1980s world
Robots at Midnight is set in a 1980’s Cassette Futurist world. From there, it will play out as an action-RPG featuring intense combat, satirical robots, giant mechanical monsters, and rich narrative discovered through exploration.
Robots at Midnight follows Zoe, a scrappy and unlikely hero, as she searches and battles her way through the world of Yob, uncovering its secrets. Once a luxury destination now in ruins, Yob is an uninviting place overrun by robots. Some of those are friendly and others dangerous. But many have begun to evolve, evoking questions of what it means to be human.
This one has been developed by the same team that previously created Skully, Maize, and Cel Damage HD. Robots at Midnight is a cosmic fantasy. It comes featuring strategic, skill-based combat, fluid movements from climbing to dodging and flipping, risk-reward choices and RPG progression tied to character growth, and an evocative storyline that provokes introspection.
The dev speaks up – Robots at Midnight is coming to Xbox
“The team is really excited to welcome people into this world we’ve been creating,” said Daniel Posner, CEO and co-founder of Finish Line Games. “We’re big fans of games that have combat that require persistence, which is where we first drew inspiration and then built this interconnected world filled with mechanical creatures, deep lore, humor, and characters that have heart and soul.”
We’ll keep you looped as to how Robots at Midnight fares. Expect to find this kicking around in 2024 when it drops onto Xbox Series X|S and PC.
