The boxy world of Boxville on Xbox and PlayStation

A village full of anthropomorphic tin cans is your home in Boxville; a quirky puzzle adventure from Ukrainian studio Triomatica Games. Telling its emotional story through doodles on boxes, and understanding the lives of each resident, Boxville on Xbox and PlayStation is a compelling ride through a world made up of cardboard boxes.

Enter, Blue Can!

Releasing today on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, following launches within the last year on Switch and PC, Boxville opens up on Blue Can. Our lovable protagonist will explore the many nooks and crannies of this busy village, all in an attempt to find his best friend. You see, Boxville has been struck by a vicious spate of earthquakes, ruining what was once an idyllic utopia.

How do we find Blue Can’s friend? By puzzles, of course! Whilst some can be on the trickier side, Triomatica have developed Boxville with relaxation in mind. Simply boot up Boxville for an hour or two, and let your worries and fears wash away.

Boxville on Xbox and PlayStation is an Animated Adventure

As well as a puzzle adventure title, Boxville is also intended to be enjoyed as an animated film. With that in mind comes the rich storytelling and narrative. Each of the residents of the sleepy village have a real charm to them, despite being a few lines drawn onto a can!

Key Features

  • Hand-drawn graphics — all backgrounds and characters are carefully drawn by our artists.
  • Every animation and sound is created especially for each interaction.
  • Unique music track was created for every scene to accomplish the atmosphere of the game.
  • Tens of logical puzzles and mini-games are tightly incorporated into the story of the game.
  • There are no words in the game — all characters communicate via cartoony speechbubbles.

Available Today!

Boxville is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. Grab yourself a copy today via the Xbox Store for £8.39.

We’ll be looking to run a review of Boxville on Xbox soon.

Game Description

Boxville is 2-in-1: an animated film and a puzzle game. An adventure puzzle game about speechless cans living in the city of boxes and drawing doodles on cardboards to tell the stories.

Boxville is good for playing alone to dive into the atmosphere and challenge your brain with sophisticated logic puzzles and riddles, or playing with a friend or family to share unique audio-visual experiences and solve the puzzles together.

Design

The core idea of the game is that it’s not just a game – but also an animated film that you can watch and play at the same time.

We designed Boxville’s gameplay with the purpose of taking away your anxiety and stress. You can explore and observe the world without rushing and pressure.

The game is full of environmental quests and logical puzzles that we have carefully picked from among hundreds of options.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
