sisters royale xbox one

Ready for an explosive, super cool, shooter? Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire has made its way to Xbox One and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere capabilities, and if you’re up for frantic bullet-hell joy, this is a game for you.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One – and PS4 and Nintendo Switch thanks to releases earlier in the year – Sisters Royale is nothing to do with the Battle Royale scene that is dominated by Fortnite and PUBG, instead delivering a bullet-hell shooter that has been inspired by the anime style of Castle of Shikigami from 2001.

Priced up at £11.74, Sisters Royale sees you join a mission to capture the heart of an angel – Yashin, letting you join the five sisters and utilise a number of unique talents, skills, abilities and ideas to allow traversal through the vertical scrolling shoot ’em up that plays out.  It’s all about the bullets with Five Sisters, and when you throw in further systems too – a Tension Bonus System, and Power-shot system for instance – you can expect to see yourself taking down huge score bonuses as progress is made.

“We’re super excited to be working with Alfa System to bring Sisters Royale to a global audience” said Shintaro Kanaoya, Founder of Chorus Worldwide. “The original Castle of Shikigami series is a beloved classic of the genre and having Alfa System come back to make a modern spiritual successor is thrilling. With its tongue-in-cheek storyline, gameplay and production values from a team at the height of their 30 years in the industry, we think Sisters Royale will appeal to shmup fans of all levels, as well manga and anime lovers around the world.”

“After receiving many calls for a sequel, we are happy to introduce a brand new game that retains some key elements from Castle of Shikigami series”, Naoki Suda, Producer of Alfa System, “in Sisters Royale the players will find the same ‘high risk, high return’ game mechanics that they enjoyed in the series, with additional obstacles that redefine the game, including ‘slippery ice floors’ and ‘wind blowing windmill’.”

Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire can be picked up this very minute from the Xbox Store, whilst our full upcoming review should be able to fill in any blanks you may have. Keep an eye out for it. There’s also an additional character to consider purchasing too. ODE will set you back an extra £2.29 but will allow the ‘Strongest Witch’ to then appear in game, bringing another unique take on the shooting action along with her on little story.

Game Description:

Five uniquely talented sisters are squabbling over which of them will marry the angel Yashin. Enjoy the heroic(?) strategies of all five! Sparks flare around the man all five sisters wish to claim. Introducing the new vertical scrolling shooter game! The Tension Bonus System (TBS) means your score and number of coins multiplies based on your distance from enemies and their attacks, and the Powershot System changes normal attacks into strong attacks, further ramping up the tension! Plus, once the TBS has multiplied by two within a certain time, Secret Fairies will be hidden somewhere in stages for you to find. Master these systems and set new high scores!
