Are you ready for an all-new, highly-explosive adventure? Super Bomberman R 2 has been revealed.
Konami have today unveiled the latest in the Super Bomberman R series – Super Bomberman R 2 – as it introduces the next chapter in the Bomberman brothers’ story. And this one will be found featuring player design-driven castle modes and more.
The party game classic is blasting back onto the scene in 2023 with Super Bomberman R 2, as it gets set to hit Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, opening up the next chapter in the story, taking in an all-new galaxy saving adventure.
Konami will be taking the party game experience to a new level with their all-new Battle Mode, Castle, as it challenges players to apply their creative genius to design their own bases, defend it from enemies and share their creation with the world. It covers the story of the “8 Bomberman Brothers” and their new friend “Ellon”, as a threat looms in the universe once again. Full details of the scenario in which the new character “Ellon” plays a major role, and the power-up “Story Mode” that can be enjoyed by a single player will be announced soon.
For now though…
- Castle: Fight asymmetrical battles of 1 vs 15 in a new attack vs. defend battle mode! A defending player is tasked with creating the map and placing defensive traps to slow down the attacking players, who will try to outplay the defensive roadblocks. Defending players will have the help of a new character type called Ellon to ward off the attacking players.
- Creation Mode, “Level Editor”: Players will have different terrain options, wall placements, and defensive gimmicks at their disposal to create new stages. Players can also share their uniquely crafted levels with other players online.
Super Bomberman R 2 will be bringing a Standard Battle Mode, Battle 64, and Grand Prix to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2023.
