Taking inspiration from the previous Dakar title – Dakar 18 – this title hopes to capture the freedom and fun of the real-world desert rally organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation.
Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, if you petrolheads have been looking for a down and dirty rally game to get your grubby paws on, then look no further. Featuring over thirty stages of racing from the last three annual iterations of the Dakar Rally, which sees racers from across the world race in both Europe and Africa, you too can now experience the adrenaline that comes with tearing it up in the most arid of environments.
Dakar Desert Rally features a range of vehicles to get to grips with across both offline (in the Rally Raid career) and online modes: trucks, cars, motorcycles, SSVs and even quads are present, each from one of many licenced manufacturers that developers Saber Porto have managed to get on board.
What’s more, for those of you lucky enough to be kitted out with the uber-expensive steering wheels and setups the pros have back at home, or even the likes of the Thrustmaster T248 Wheel that we love, Dakar Desert Rally is compatible with a wide range of such kits, providing the peak in driving experience.
Finally, where Dakar Desert Rally makes use of updated console specs is with a full day-night cycle, as well as having races play out in all four seasons, presenting wild weather hazards such as sandstorms, harsh snow and much more.
