Can you remember what you were doing in 2009? Well, just two years on from the launch of the iPhone, the unmistakable Mecho Wars released on iOS, gathering up a fair old bit of acclaim in the process. Here and now though, a decade or so on we see that game make a return, with the team at Arcade Distillery dropping Mecho Wars: Desert Ashes on to Xbox One.
Sold and marketed as the definitive release of the original Mecho Wars from back in 2009, Mecho Wars: Desert Ashes on Xbox One takes all that was loved about the classic turn-based strategy title and throws in high definition visuals, new hand painted art and additional effects. Further to that and the single player campaign has been expanded, and no less than six brand new multiplayer maps are now also in place.
Priced at just £4.19, Mecho Wars: Desert Ashes on Xbox One sees you dropped slap bang in the middle of a world full of weird and wonderful creatures, and a ton of the most deadly of machines. Following a flood which has near wiped out the world, it tells of a new leader coming to power, one who is attempting to takeover the entire world with the help of some long lost technology.
