Powered by the latest in Unreal Engine 5 technology, the team at Nexon have crafted a truly beautiful-looking third-person looter shooter in the form of The First Descendant. Playing out as a co-op PvE humans-versus-aliens schtick, it is up to you and your friends to save humanity from these hostile invaders. And now The First Descendant crossplay open beta is on the horizon!
Defeat the Vulgus
Over 100 years ago, the Vulgus crossed over into our dimension, and brought with them all manner of freakish alien species. They are intent on making Earth their home, and the only force to stop them is us!
Taking part in a number of PvE looter shooter missions and boss fights, you’ll slowly accrue a wide range of equipment, items and materials to equip to your soldier. Throughout the course of the game, you’ll go from basic grunt to unique, fully powered weapon of mass destruction.
If it’s anything like recent looter shooter Remnant II, we will be more than happy!
As far as story is concerned, and Nexon have so far been keeping hush-hush. However, those of you getting involved in the open beta will be treated to an extensive Prologue section, which will spill the beans. Why are the Vulgus seeking to invade? What is the power of the magical Iron Heart? You’ll start to uncover answers within the beta.

Important Dates!
So, when exactly is the open beta taking place? It will be between the 19th-25th September, and is available with cross-play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. To register for the beta, head over to Nexon’s site here.
