A Song of Ice and Dust is the latest Saints Row expansion

Since the reboot of Saints Row, players have had the chance to continue their Santo Ileso adventures through a series of expansion. The latest is now here and with the LARP inspired A Song of Ice and Dust expansion comes access to all-new Saints Row campaign missions, a new enemy faction, vehicles, weapons and more.

Continuing the expansions

Following on from The Heist & the Hazardous and Doc Ketchum’s Murder Circus is Saints Row: A Song of Ice and Dust. It is this which is found working as the final Saints Row expansion for this summer, available either as an individual purchase or as part of the Saints Row Expansion Pass incuded in both the Gold and Platinum editions of the game.

Go individual and you’ll find this one will set you back £11.99. But honestly, that feels fairly decent for the sheer amount of content included in A Song of Ice and Dust.

Arriving on the back of a free patch that opens up the District of Vallejo, ahead of launch of Saints Row on Steam come August 24th, A Song Of Ice And Dust is a LARP-themed tale set in this new, crumbling district. Dip in and players will experience the epic climax to Saints Row’s popular Dustmoot story, a tale of two “frenemies” (the Boss and Gwen) who, despite their differences, still really hate each other.

After a brutal bloody wedding betrayal of the Dustlanders, it’s time to join forces and defend The Dustfaire from the clutches of the Chill Queen and the Frostlanders, paintball by paintball.

A host of new features

So what are you getting in A Song of Ice and Dust? Well, the DLC comes within five new campaign missions, a new enemy faction (The Frostlanders), four new vehicles, weapons, and more than twenty outfits and cosmetics.

In fact, when combined with the latest update, all of the following key features arrive for play.

  • A Song Of Ice and Dust DLC for Expansion Pass holders is out now and also available to buy separately
  • The free Dustfire Update Patch launched in August is available for all players and includes:
    • New Vallejo District added to the map
    • New @atcha and wingsuit saboteur activities
    • Improvements to customization including improved layering on clothing
    • New pop up shop, discoveries and threats
    • Challenge tracking and achievement/trophy fixes for completionists
    • More main game improvements and bug fixing in multiple areas

Buy Saints Row: A Song of Ice and Dust now

It goes without saying that you’ll need the Saints Row base game to hand, whether that be on Xbox, PlayStation or PC. And you’ll be able to play that on Steam come August 24th too.

But from there, fill your dusty boots with the arrival of Saints Row: A Song of Ice and Dust. You’ll find the Xbox Store page right here.

And watch the trailer below if you need to be sold a little more…
