Knock it if you must, but it’s obvious that Konami are right behind their eFootball project. Today we see eFootball 2023 arrive on the scene, as updated data and squads accompany new team licenses and more.Â
It’s been a rough old time for Konami and eFootball, pretty much ever since they ditched PES and went free-to-play. The launch was a disaster, the following roll out of ideas into Version 1.0 equally so. But with eFootball 2023 there may well be room for it to flourish. Possibly.Â
eFootball 2023 sees the return of the free-to-play football game, pushing forth from eFootball 2022 and rolling out across console (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5), PC via Steam and on mobile devices. it brings with it updated player data and the transfers that have taken place in the summer window. There are also two new player ambassadors in the form of Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool. They sit pretty alongside Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Takefusa Kubo.
There are further new partnerships too. Both AC and Inter Milan have squads, kits and the San Siro in place whilst an exclusive agreement with Liga BBVA MX drops all eighteen Mexican clubs in too, replication of their players and the addition of the Estadio Azteca.
Further, fresh card types hit. The latest eFootball 2023 experience will see the introduction of two new card types for its flagship game mode ‘Dream Team’: ‘Epic’ and ‘Highlight’; Epic cards will centre around players throughout football history, celebrating defining seasons of brilliance from them; whilst Highlight cards will focus on the current season as it unfolds, picking up current players who are setting world football alight in the 2022/23 season.
There are also Club Packs too.
One of the biggest moves though is that eFootball 2023 will give players the chance to play offline Trial Matches with twenty-six teams included. This is a step-up from the nine previously available, now including AC Milan, FC Internazionale Milano, AS Roma, S.S.C. Napoli, Club America, and Santos F.C.
You’ll find eFootball 2023 available to download for free from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PS4, PS5, PC and mobile – all free.Â
Let us know if you decide to give Konami another chance.Â
