Tin Can is a new space survival sim for Xbox and PlayStation – Out now!

Fancy a trip to space? What if we send you up in a Tin Can?

Tin Can is the latest to come from the Klabater team as they take Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players to outer space, stranded and floating through the dark after the space capsule you were in malfunctioned. Your primary goal now is to head back to Earth – somehow.

Priced at £16.74 for the Standard Edition of the game, Tin Can will give you the tools needed in order to make that trip home become a reality. But those same tools will be limited, resources scarce, clocks ticking. Repairing your ship as best you can, before navigating your way through a ton of space debris will take up most of your time in Tin Can.

Of course, an oxygen supply will need to be considered, as well asteroid fields, cosmic monsters and more. Getting a grip on the key features may well help you understand the requirements of Tin Can some more.

  • Dismantle, swap, and fix anything inside the pod.
  • Manage the systems down to every single component.
  • Control numerous systems which all have their own unique function and serve to ensure your survival. Every system is interconnected, from the oxygen generator to the emergency lights.
  • Organize over a dozen different components, all having their own specific function and causing different problems when damaged.
  • Experience organic failures thanks to the simulated nature of resources and components inside the game. You will have to figure out what is wrong and retrace failures back to the source.
  • Engage in realistic management of vital resources, such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, temperature, and radiation. No arbitrary numbers here. The levels of these resources required for survival are based on real life!

With a bit of tactical nous and a ton of luck on your side, success may well be found in Tin Can. If you fancy giving it a go, your best bet is to make your way to the Xbox Store and grab the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. There’s a ‘Supporter Edition‘ which adds in some original tracks too – that one costs a little more at £18.74.

Expect to find our review of Tin Can hurtling its way towards your eyes in the coming days. The game is on PlayStation too.

Game Description:

As a random member of your colony’s space program, you leave Mars aboard a large transport ship, only for its reactor to go critical in the middle of your journey to new horizons. All your time spent in the simulator did not prepare you for such a dire situation! Now, drifting in your escape pod, without any FTL capabilities, you realize that an easy way out was not included. Use your own wits to fix systems in a similar way you would fix and build your own PC, by swapping and fixing individual components. With a bit of luck, you might be able to finally find a safe haven

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
