We’re well used to discovering reimagined fairytales across the gaming world. It’s that which we have available today, as Ugly releases on Xbox. It comes just in time for the spooky season too.
Available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC today, with a Nintendo Switch drop to follow, Ugly is the work of TEAM UGLY, helped along by Graffiti Games. It runs a price of some £16.74 from the Xbox Store – expect similar elsewhere.
Ugly – a new puzzling fairytale
Delve in and you’ll find that this one is full of the darkest of secrets. Playing out as a puzzle platformer, it focuses efforts on the life of a nobleman; a guy who is attempting to get to grips with his past. You see, it’s here where trauma has hit – do you really want to know the ugly truth?
TEAM UGLY are promising much with this experience. You’ll be looking at some new mechanics, a deep narrative and some hand-crafted stages. In simple terms, expect to find some innovation in mirror mechanics, shadowy secrets and more. You’ll be left to utilise logc and skills if you wish to try and survive.
We’re taken by Ugly and think this one has what it takes to deliver something new to the gaming scene. We’ll find out for sure in our full review.
