Over the last few years the Lightwood Games team have made a certain genre their own. We’re not sure there’s anyone else who has got close to them in the word puzzling market. And we’re 100% sure no one else is doing it with dodgy puns included. But that’s where Lightwood excel and it’s where they’re looking to do so again with Word Web by POWGI.
Word Web by POWGI on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch is the latest word puzzler to drop onto the land of console. It’s available as we speak on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, as well as on PlayStation. Those preferring to test themselves on Nintendo Switch will need to hold tight until September 14th.
A Word Web needs untangling
However – and wherever – you play, Word Web by POWGI (a game also known as Gogen) promises much in line with previous ‘… by POWGI’ titles. Whether that be the most recent releases of Word Maze or Crossovers, or some of the older titles like Word Sudoku or One Word, you should know what to expect here.
Except Word Web by POWGI is slightly different. You see, this one has you placing letters into a web of spaces, all in hope that the final outcome allows for the continuation of words. 25 letters need to be placed in all, with words spelt in a variety of directions. As long as the web of lines fits, all is good in the world.
Deduction skills will be required with this one and that means Lightwood are pitching this more towards those who got on with games like Wordsweeper.
120 puzzles are ready to be solved in Word Web by POWGI. And yes, that means the dodgy puns and bad jokes will be present as a reward of some kind.
Buy it right now
Word Web by POWGI is on the Xbox Store right now, running a price of £6.69. You’ll be able to play it on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with full Series X|S optimisation in house.
Alternatively, scan the digital stores of PlayStation and Nintendo Switch for similar access.
