Just like many of the major horror films that have joined it, Dead by Daylight has a cult following of players. And, if the recent 8th Anniversary announcements were anything to go by, the cult of Dead by Daylight is in for a real treat.
GraviFire on Xbox is very much your standard block pusher puzzle game, but the unique gravity aspect does literally subvert things for the better. It does a brilliant job gradually bringing you up to speed with how the mechanics work, before throwing curveballs at you in the very tricky later levels. It’s a shame then that there isn’t a bit more to it, but for the price it is tough to expect much more.
It might be the shortest calendar month, but there are no shortages of easy achievements to be had from the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S games that have released in February 2021. After our easy achievements list from last month where we managed to include a full 1000G for a game, can we keep that momentum going in this month’s offerings?
Want more Planet Coaster? Need more inspiration to complete your park? Well have we got the news for you! Two new DLC packs are launching today for Planet Coaster: Console Edition as we get the chance to time travel back to simpler times with The Vintage Pack or travel the globe with the World’s Fair Pack.
Whether you want to play #SinucaAttack on Xbox for achievements or for something a bit different, there is a bit of fun to be had. Levels do start to get a bit repetitive but then it will throw a new feature at you that will act as a difficulty spike and a way to keep things fresh. The controls cannot be excused though - there is just no legislating for them.
Yakuza 4 Remastered on Xbox isn’t the best game in The Yakuza Remastered Collection but it is a marked improvement on the pacing of Yakuza 3 Remastered.
Getting in there before American and Asian gamers complain about the date, for this latest retrospective piece we are going on the initial European release date for Final Fantasy IX, which is the 16th February 2001. That’s right, 20 years ago; a time where European gamers had to wait an extra seven months longer for one of the best Final Fantasy games.
The series may have a cult following, but ten years on Test Drive Unlimited 2 still upsets me. It was one of my most anticipated games ever, with a concept years ahead of what Forza Horizon could achieve. But it remains one of the buggiest launches of a game I can remember, completely tarnishing my memory of it.
In our previous piece looking at the Spooky Pack DLC for Planet Coaster: Console Edition, we donned our best bedsheets and tried to give our guests the willies. With only a couple of exclusive rides though, our guests were less than impressed. Here’s hoping then that the Adventure Pack DLC for Planet Coaster can offer a bit more variation.
There isn’t a bad Yakuza game, but Yakuza 3 Remastered on Xbox is the weakest in the series. Its lengthy introduction takes up about a third of the entire story, whilst it also lacks some of the quality of life improvements found in later versions. But it is still a solid entry, and worth playing through to see the foundations of Kiryu’s later life beginning.
I had high hopes going into the first DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising. A New God on Xbox though feels like a safe entry, and even for a piece of DLC it overstays its welcome with a large number of trials and not much else.
It’s a tough ask designing a whole theme park around haunted houses and ghost trains, and it really shows with the Spooky Pack DLC for Planet Coaster: Console Edition.
Balancelot on Xbox has over 50 levels to play through, but there isn’t anywhere near enough differentiation between them to keep players entertained. The tapestry style and Monty Python cues can only carry Balancelot so far, especially when things such as the cutscenes and water effects are so badly ported over, which has to be said is unusual for a Ratalaika game. Balancelot is just more achievement fodder, and that is all it is really good for.
January has typically been a quieter month after “silly season” in terms of games released, but that doesn’t mean there has been a shortage of easy Xbox achievements and Gamerscore to be had. And we are here once again to highlight to you any that may have been missed from those Xbox games that launched in January 2021. This month we feature the easiest achievement we’ll likely ever have in our lists, as well as a full 1000G that can be earned in less than 20 minutes.
With the majority of the series now available through Xbox Game Pass, there is an embarrassment of Japanese crime simulator riches to be had with Yakuza. But with all this goodness, confusion springs as to which is the best starting point. Well I - a self-confessed Yakuza addict - am here to tell you that each entry in the series is a great starting point!
Take on the challenges in the new Immortals Fenyx Rising to reach the inner circle of the Pantheon: A New God DLC is available to download right now on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC.
A gorecore slasher, Morbid: The Lords of Ire will see you navigating your way across the most tortured of landscapes, fighting for your sanity as you go.
As I've played almost every fishing experience that you can find on the big black box, I thought I'd attempt to rank them, nailing a list consisting of 5 of the best fishing games on Xbox One, if you will.
There's aren't many (in fact, there are hardly any) boxing games on the market, especially those that utilise the power of current-gen consoles. But come this October all that will change as we get the opportunity to rule the ring in UNDISPUTED.
