Calling your horror game ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ would initially suggest that it isn’t very scary. Well after watching the trailer and reading the synopsis, I would wholeheartedly disagree. Find out how chilling it is as Don’t Be Afraid releases on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
An 11-year-old boy has been kidnapped and imprisoned by a child killer. As harrowing as that sentence is, you play as that little boy, David. Forced with no option but to escape this nightmarish house, you must find a way out. Explore your surroundings, try to stay calm, solve the puzzles and escape if you can.
Ignore the fact that you feel like someone is watching you. Ignore the fact that they may be enjoying watching you suffer.
Could this house have been set-up as an elaborate sick game for someone to enjoy. I’m sure that is something you can worry about later.
What happened to the old-fashioned horror games where it is just zombies or killer clowns to be scared of?
Featuring all manner of horror tropes such as creepy dolls, dismemberment, mannequins and those monkey toys that bash the symbols, Don’t Be Afraid is one nightmare this writer will be avoiding. Some other poor member of TheXboxHub will have a review for you soon, so keep an eye out for it.
