Are you one of the many who have loved what Koji Igarashi has done over the years with the Castlevania and Bloodstained experiences? Today is your lucky day as Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 launches on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Bloodstained pretty much sells itself, with the original Curse of the Moon and then Ritual of the Night providing extensive exploration opportunities in recent times. Now though it’s all about IGA’s latest experience, one that combines the usual classic 2D action with an 8-bit art style whilst all retaining modern day playability, as Curse of the Moon 2 hits Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Priced at £13.49, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 will see you given the chance to embark on a whole new journey, with an epic storyline that has been overseen by IGA himself. In it, you’ll find yourself taking on the role of Zangetsu as he and a wide range of characters attempt to battle their way though to a demonic stronghold, intent on taking down all within it.
With all the usual characters from the original Curse of the Moon available, along with some new folk finding their debut here in the sequel, you should expect to find many different opportunities available, as you go about utilising their unique skills and abilities in order to complete the various stages ahead. Drop in a local cooperative two-player option – a first for the series – and we should be finding Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 delivering another stunning gaming experience to Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
We’ll have a full review of Curse of the Moon 2 on Xbox One coming your way soon, but for now just pop over to the usual digital stores and grab a download. The Xbox Store is our preferred choice, but you’ll also find the game on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop. Oh, and it’s also available on Steam too.
Curse of the Moon 2 brings classic 2D action and a dark, 8-bit aesthetic together with modern playability. The multiple-scenario structure of the previous title returns with an epic new story supervised by IGA (Koji Igarashi) himself. Players take control of Zangetsu, a swordsman from the far east who bears a deep grudge against demonkind and the alchemists who summoned them. Zangetsu must battle his way to the demonic stronghold, but he doesn’t have to do it alone! Zangetsu can ally himself with a brand new cast of characters he meets along the way and add them to the playable roster. Three brand-new playable characters appear in Curse of the Moon 2, including the exorcist Dominique. All characters from the original Curse of the Moon game are playable, too! Each new character adds a variety of gameplay options, abilities, and ways to complete the games’ many stages. Players can also create demon hunting duos in 2-player local co-op, available for the first time in the series! Work together with a friend, mix and match the strengths of two different characters, and conquer stages in tons of new and exciting ways.
