One of the latest to go down the Game Preview and Game Pass route is that of Lightyear Frontier, a game that takes farming sim elements but puts it into space.
First revealed back in 2018, all has been relatively quiet on the promotion front for Twin Mirror since. That is until now, and hot on the heels of a teaser trailer that dropped at the recent PC Gaming event, we were invited to a developer presentation of the game, with full director commentary in tow. We duly accepted, and were not surprised by the quality of the promise that Twin Mirror will quite obviously deliver on.
It’s the quiet before the storm as both Ubisoft and Microsoft gear up for their conferences in the very near future. As such, TheXboxHub team are pondering what to expect from these events, while also focusing on the hot topics right now including the price increase for Xbox Series X games and much, much more. “XBOX NEEDS EXCLUSIVES!”. Sound familiar? It’s something that has been ringing in my ears since becoming an Xbox gamer nearly 20 years ago. It’s possibly the longest standing and harshest criticism levelled against Microsoft’s console family, and I can’t say I wholly disagree. However, there are some out there which can slip through the net every now and then. But bucking the trend was the original Crackdown, which was not one of them. It shifted a very healthy amount of units as well as drawing in universal praise from critics. A sequel then, would be a no-brainer.
Tracks has received its first premium DLC pack, and this brings with it a new area and plenty of new building options, all based around space and beyond. The Sci-Fi pack has arrived on the Xbox Store, and we had a chance to play with it. Is it worth the current £3.29 asking price – cheaper than a model train starter set?
The Xbox Series X will be using Smart Delivery to kick off the ninth generation of gaming consoles, allowing gamers to purchase a game once, and regardless of which console they are playing on they will be playing the best version of that game the console can offer.
No Straight Roads starts very impressively. After making your way through the J Rock-inspired title menu, you are greeted to the story in a very cinematic opening. “The biggest change can come from the most unexpected individual” is both the opening line and a great expression of what No Straight Roads will offer later this year. It has instant appeal, working as a cool mix of anime, Psychonauts, and Crypt of the Necrodancer.
To this day, I continue to game on my launch Xbox One console from 2013, a true dinosaur that just barely chugs along. It’s ugly, clunky, massive and heavy - the antithesis of the recent Xbox One X. As we move past the halfway point of the year, developers' minds are on next gen, but I thought it would be fun to look at previous games that launched with a rather bad reputation.
Another week has passed by, which means TheXboxHub team are ready to delve into all things in the realm of gaming - and often beyond - once more. At the heart of the discussions during TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 37 is whether video games are becoming too long and too difficult these days. There’s also chatter about rumoured games potentially coming to Xbox Series X and the future unveiling of the Xbox Series S.

With the release of The Catch: Carp & Coarse, Dovetail Games have upped the ante for the representation of my favourite sport on the Xbox. However, I know that not everyone is interested in sitting in the rain to catch tiny fish as I am, so after reviewing the game it got me thinking about how I would explain the whole world of fishing to an angling muggle, as it were. I hope in this little article to try and explain my thought processes for approaching the game, and give you a bit of a clue, and a few hints and tips, as to how to be more successful in winkling those Boss Fish out of their lairs.
The original Diablo released way back in 1997 to critical acclaim and its legacy has been clear from the not-so-subtle clones to the inspiration it has had on all facets of gaming. Needless to say, its follow up, Diablo II, had a lot to live up to.
Jet Set Radio is still, without doubt, one of the coolest games around. An irresistible combination of looks, sound and gameplay (all of which hit the sweet spot) still make this a unique experience 20 years after its initial launch in the year 2000.
