This week, Gearbox announced Borderlands 3 with a release by the end of Gearbox's fiscal year. They also announced the Borderlands GOTY remaster with a release date of much much sooner. How excited are we for the remaster and the third game in the series?

FAR: Lone Sails has just released on Xbox One, providing a vehicular adventure like none other. With some stunning visuals, a brilliant soundtrack and hugely impressive reviews from a previous outing on Steam, it's a game that is massively anticipated. Sounds about right for a little Let's Play then eh?

When it was revealed that Traveller’s Tales were conjuring up a Batman: The Animated Series Level Pack for LEGO DC Super-Villains, my eyes widened with joy and the excitement couldn’t be contained. Now it’s arrived though, I have just the one question to ask myself: is the Batman: The Animated Series Level Pack worth your cash?

So, April is here already and I’m betting that, much like myself, you’re sat there with a shameful backlog of games that you had hoped to have already cleared by this point. Well, just to confuse matters even more the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for April 2019 are here, and that can only mean one thing - more games for you, for free, to either add to your backlog or to jump right on into straight away. First though, let’s take a look at the Xbox games on offer to see just which ones are worth your time and which you’d be best off leaving for a rainy day.

Cuphead has no shortage of boss fights. In fact, the first level largely cements the game as a boss rush title, barring some retro side-scrolling levels. Yet, some bosses are surely harder than others, leaving players with no other recourse than to remove their hair, strand by strand.

With World of Tanks proving a phenomenal success, it was only a matter of time before we saw the mighty World of Warships join the console fold too. Occasionally though, you’ll happen to stumble across an Xbox achievement where you’ll have to bring your A-game. These are the achievements that separate the boys from the men. A lot of people get very excited about a lot of things. The next Marvel film, the next Rockstar game, the next episode of The Great British Bake-Off. The minds behind 2019 marketing are extremely good at what they do, demonstrated by the fact by how products are able to stand out against thousands of others. Getting older has many downsides. One is that I have accrued so many pet hates, that I now need a zoo to accommodate them all. Released in 1998, it covers over two decades in gaming; three, if you count from the original Metal Gear released in 1987. With now five entries in the Solid series and numerous spin-offs, it tells an intricate story of love, friendship, loyalty and war. Few games dare even dream of maintaining such a narrative, let alone across so many games. After the fourth entry, with Solid Snake's tragic story seemingly concluded, the return of Big Boss himself rose over the horizon. And Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes served as an exciting, even if a rather short beginning to that.

In recent years the influence of mods on games has been one has that seen a number of incredible standalone games arise. From the popular DayZ to the fantastic Zombie Army Trilogy and numerous others in between, it seems that there are few games that haven’t benefited from the creative minds of players at some point. Pandemic Express is another game that looks to capture and run with the idea of a popular community-based creation, by bringing a game focused on the many popular Zombie Escape-style mods that we’ve seen over the years – and it’s an idea that could just be something special.
