You may or may not be familiar with the Deathsmiles series of games, but no matter whether you’ve previous history with it or not matters little, for today Deathsmiles I・II becomes available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Deathsmiles I・II from CITY CONNECTION is a shoot ’em up that is full of gothic horrors.
Set in the world of Gilverado, Deathsmiles I・II whisks us off to these exotic lands and tasks you from powering through via your SHMUP skills. Gothic horror is front and centre of what Deathsmiles I・II provides, but on the flipside are some adorable character designs, intuitive controls and tons of content.
In fact, those content levels verge on the ridiculous. In Deathsmiles I・II we see three playable games – Deathsmiles which kicked everything off from way back in 2007, alongside those of Deathsmiles Mega Black Label (an upgraded version of that original) and Deathsmiles IIX Merry Christmas in Hell – the sequel.
With Normal and Arcade game modes included in these, plus a little bit more in the terms of the latter game, if you’re looking for a fully comprehensive offering of Deathsmiles goodies, then you’ll find Deathsmiles I・II able to deliver.
The whole Deathsmiles I・II package will set you back £33.49. It’s the Xbox Store which will allow full access to the games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
But there’s more too and rolling out alongside the base experience is a DLC pack. ‘Additional Characters “Gothic wa Mahou Otome” 5 Characters Set‘ will set you back another £20.99 (yep, you’ll need to prise the wallet open here), but that will do as the title suggests, adding in five new characters from the Gothic wa Mahou Otome. It also includes remixed BG<s, new voices and demo scenes for good measure.
Let us know if the whole Deathsmiles experience is one that is tempting you in.
