How will you play the Cards We’re Dealt on Xbox?

For many, it’s all about playing the hand that we are given, stumbling through life, switching from this to that. It’s that which we today take into the virtual world in Cards We’re Dealt on Xbox,

A new deckbuilding roguelike

Available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is Cards We’re Dealt. This is the creative endeavour of one Cole Chittim. Playing as an office wanderer, this is a game in which we attempt to make the most of the magical cards that are sent our way. All in order to fight off the supernatural beings ahead.

In Cards We’re Dealt your main goal will be to try and get to the bottom of the mysteries of the halls you find yourself. Working as a humble office temp, an unfolding story awaits, as you enjoy the deckbuilding, roguelike and horror mechanics fournd within.

It’s here in which the cards you are dealt come to the fore. They’ll provide you with new abilities, with their use and timing dictating your success levels. With a standard set of pistols and the like also to hand, it’ll be how you utilise the mechanics which will determine the play of Card’s We’re Dealt. The question is, what choices will you make?

Key features of Cards We’re Dealt on Xbox

  • A DECKBUILDING HORROR ROGUELIKE – Collect cards that grant abilities and setbacks as you explore the never ending corporate underworld. There are many cards within the devils deck to find in these backrooms but you’ll need to choose wisely what you keep in your hand.
  • SLAY ENDLESS DEMONS – Armed with pistols, magic, and the heads of other interns, fight your way through demons and the souls of former office creeps as you find your way back to the mortal plane.
  • ESCAPE THE UNDERWORLD WITH FRIENDS – Save your soul alone, or with friends. Combine your powers and work together to escape from the underworld by collecting keycards to ascend the elevator.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
