Promenade on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC is a 2D Collectathon inspired by the best 3D platformers – and it’s coming in 2024.

Created by indie studio Holy Cap, Promenade will be released on consoles by publishers Red Art Games on February 23rd, 2024.

The story of Promenade

In Promenade, you step into the shoes of Nemo, and start an important quest. That is to restore the Great Elevator by hunting down the massive contraption’s cogs, which have been strewn across the world.

Nemo is joined by a loyal octopus companion, whose abilities he can use as a dynamic moveset to explore and help solve puzzles. The journey ahead for this fearless pair involves traversing a vibrant and expansive world brimming with hazards and whimsical creatures. Throughout this odyssey, numerous obstacles will test their mettle, but the rewards will undoubtedly make the challenges worthwhile.

Take a look at the inventive gameplay and diverse environments by watching the trailer:

A tale of personal growth

At its core, Promenade weaves a narrative of personal growth, conquering apprehensions, and dispelling self-doubt through its interactive elements. The creators of the game drew inspiration from a medley of sources including Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Little Nemo, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and even Over the Garden Wall.

In addition, Promenade on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC pays homage to timeless classics within the 3D platformer genre. You know, revered titles like Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Spyro the Dragon, and more recently, Super Mario Odyssey.

Promenade fosters a sense of independent exploration, prompting players to uncover the surrounding world and its objects through personal discovery. You’ll need to consider experimentation with unconventional approaches which will often yield surprising and unforeseen outcomes.

Despite its vibrant visuals and comical characters, don’t be deceived. Promenade has been designed with experienced players in mind.

Available both digitally and physically

Promenade will be published both digitally and physically by Red Art Games and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS4 and PC at launch.

If you prefer a physical copy, these will only be available on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PS4. As well as the Standard Edition, Red Art Games are releasing an exclusive Promenade Deluxe edition limited to 300 copies per platform. The Promenade Deluxe Edition will feature a wraparound box sleeve, a poster, a stickers sheet and a copy of the Promenade Original Soundtrack on CD.

Both the Deluxe Edition covers and the packshots for the Standard Edition of Promenade showcase distinct artwork, tailored to each platform. This intentional design choice pays homage to the 16-bit era’s multiplatform releases, which often boasted various box designs.

The digital version will cost €24.99/$24.99 (roughly the same for us in the UK), with both Standard and Deluxe Editions priced at €34.99. Physical copies can be pre-ordered right now from Red Art Games’ official online store.
