The joy of an Eastasiasoft title is that you never really know what to expect. Wife Quest is a prime example of that randomness – a title which implies that you’ll do nothing but head off on a quest for a wife. But you’ll want to get those thoughts out of your head from the get-go, because instead this is a naughty, humorous action platformer in which you’ll be mostly punishing the monster girls you happen across.
Available to purchase, download and add into your digital library no matter whether you are on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 or Nintendo Switch, Wife Quest has seen Eastasiasoft pick up the creation of Pippin Games and push it out to the wider world.
Priced at £6.69, downloading this platformer will see you given the chance to take on the role of a former, slightly washed-up warrior who is attempting – with all her might – to keep her husband from the prying hands of the local monster girls.
Sold as a light-hearted affair in which humour is promised in swathes, Wife Quest plays out as a pixel arted side-scroller, as you and Mia – that’s the wife – slash your way through the most stubborn of enemies, navigating past multiple hazards and hope to save Fernando – the husband – from evil forces.
New abilities will come the way of Mia as progress is made, as enemy boss figures are taken down and as the trials and pitfalls are traversed. You can throw in the chance to purchase new gear from an equipment shop too, as well as partake in a mini-game or three and even unlock new skins for Mia via additional modes.
There’s seemingly a decent amount of whack going on in Wife Quest to ensure it is worthy of a little look. The price point helps, but should you be sat on the fence, you’ll probably be best off holding tight for our full review. We’re currently playing through Wife Quest on Xbox – Xbox Series X|S where it’s fully optimised, in fact – and should be in a position to deliver some thoughts in the coming days.
