Games leave Game Pass again

Game Pass subscriber? You best get ready to say goodbye to a couple of cracking games as they leave the subscription service.

For Game Pass to continue staying fresh, it needs to evolve, moving with the times, adding in new games and taking some away. January 2024 has been a pretty decent month for new Game Pass additions too – Go Mecha Ball and Palworld at the front of the charge.

But with those multiple new games, we must say goodbye to a couple of others, shifting out to make space for even more brilliant gaming experiences. Today, as the end of January hits, those games move out from Xbox and PC. If you haven’t yet played F1 2021 or Hitman: World of Assassination, it’s going to be wallet opening time.

F1 2021

We won’t miss F1 2021. That’s not because it’s a bad game – in fact, it’s one of the very finest of all the F1 titles to have launched in recent years. But we won’t miss it because we already have the more up-to-date F1 23 in Game Pass and EA Play. And frankly, it’s the most recent version of any sports or racing game that should be played.

If you must get involved with F1 2021, then you can do so. But from the end of today you’ll be needing to head to the Xbox Store with wallet in hand. Grab a download and you’ll find a cracking racer. Just remember though, F1 23 is also available…

“F1 2021 is probably the most in-depth, customisable and amendable F1 racer to date, so much so that there’s little that any fan of the sport could ever really want more of.”

HITMAN World of Assassination

If you have yet to play F1 2021 or HITMAN World of Assassination then you’ll want to get involved asap.

Has anyone truly ever said goodbye to Agent 47? Well, it’s what we are doing today, at least if you’re playing to play his adventures through to conclusion on Game Pass.

HITMAN World of Assassination brings together the finest moments of HITMAN, HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3 to deliver some of the finest spy thrills available on the Xbox system. It allows you to tackle a variety of missions, contracts, objections and more, all as you deem fit. That means the opportunities found in HITMAN World of Assassination are pretty endless.

For that reason alone, there’s probably next to no chance that you’ll be able to get through these in one sitting. And so if you’re looking to play HITMAN World of Assassination, the Xbox Store will now be your best bet.

What’s next for Game Pass?

With February on the horizon, we’re expecting many more games to hit the Game Pass service in the coming weeks. Whilst full confirmation is still to come, we already know that the brilliant Persona 3 Reload is landing on Game Pass as a Day One title come February 2nd. After that we will have Anuchard on the 6th.

We’ll let you know what other games build the Game Pass subscription as the big dogs at Microsoft HQ spill the beans. For now, let us know if you’ll miss HITMAN World of Assassination or F1 2021.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
