With a gaming series and protagonist as iconic as this, it’s utterly bizarre why such a long game title is required. Really, is Tomb Raider going to star anyone else? The title were perhaps understandable back in the day, but now, her legacy precedes her. And we are going back to the very beginning with this latest remaster. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft is out today on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Classics releasing on a special day
Releasing not-so-coincidentally on Lara Croft’s birthday, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered says everything you need to know. Remastered for the first time are Lara’s first three adventure, including the expansions previously only available on PC. Those titles are:
- Tomb Raider I + Unfinished Business
- Tomb Raider II + Golden Mask
- Tomb Raider III + The Lost Artifact
These are more than just simple ports however. Graphics have been improved but only to the point that the games look like you remember them. By that, I mean that only a thin layer of polish has been added, without losing the appeal of the originals. But, if you wanted to return to the original visuals, a quick push of a button can see you flawlessly switch between them.
Controls have also been updated to more modern standards. Again though, the tank controls remain.

The easiest way to play
The chance to take Lara on her first three globe-trotting adventures is now. No longer is the SEGA Saturn or original PlayStation needed to be dusted off. Just boot up the Xbox Series X and enjoy these classics for the first time, or all over again.
