It’s our last look back at the best Xbox One and Xbox 360 news, reviews, videos and opinions of the year, so before we all wind down with mince pies in hand, it’s time to ask one final question…”Which were the best Xbox news stories from the last seven days?”.
Well, this little lot from between the 13th-19th December 2015 shouldn’t be missed.
Download Thief for free right now on Xbox One!
We must start with the free stuff and the middle of December has seen no less than three titles be stripped of their price tags. Thief, Sacred 3 and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising may not be right at the top of your most wanted lists, but for free they shouldn’t be turned down.
With the latter two making the most of the Xbox One Backwards Compatible scheme, that does in practice mean Xbox One owners can check out all three titles…for nothing.
Not a bad way to end the year eh!?
It may seem like strange timing, releasing Starpoint Gemini 2 on Xbox One shortly after the behemoth that is Elite Dangerous appearing for real, but the guys and girls at Little Green Men studios are confident in their product and happy enough to take it to the big guns!
Set in space, Gemini 2 gives you the chance to take in a third person, tactical RPG offering, that whilst being similar to Elite, may just bring about a complementary experience. If you’re looking for space dogfighting and plenty of stuf to get your teeth into, the Starpoint Gemini 2 may just be for you…as long as you can see through the awful voice acting and frame rate issues.
If you want something that is going to cause a bit of a ruckus, Just Cause 3 is it!
Full of explosions, destruction and downright madcap craziness, Rico’s latest adventure sees him try to take back a world filled with missions, objectives, challenges and the chance to fly high into the sky, all before initiating his wingsuit and firing himself back down to earth again.
Whilst it may be affected by loading sequences from hell, and some visual issues which attempt to ruin the whole experience, Just Cause 3 is quite easily one of the best games of 2015…and most certainly one of the most fun!
Xbox One Backwards Compatible expands with the addition of new titles from today!
For many, the Xbox Backwards Compatible scheme is a bit of a god send. Giving owners the chance to play those games that were originally ditched when making the move to Xbox One, the program ensures that some of the best ever Xbox 360 games are given a new lease of life.
It may not be for everyone, but with a load of new games now added to the scheme, fans of Fable III, Halo Reach, Portal and more can once again remind themselves why they love Xbox!
