Against All Odds is the new free World War Z: Aftermath update you need to play

We know that World War Z: Aftermath can be a bit marmite, but if you ask us, it’s a great cooperative shooter that we adore dropping time into. Much of the reason behind that is the fact that it constantly feels fresh – something the latest Against All Odds free update will look to continue. 

Rolling out right about now for World War Z: Aftermath on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC is the new – and free – Against All Odds update. If you’re looking for more Horde Mode maps, new Mutators and more, then you are going to be well sorted. 

World War Z: Aftermath is Saber Interactive’s zombie shooter; a game that many see as the ultimate in the cooperative world. Giving players the chance to take on a zombie apocalypse, whether you go at World War Z alone or with friends, you’ll discover a super intense shooter that plays out. 

With the base game inspired by Paramount Pictures’ blockbusting film, the Against All Odds free update should be deep enough in content to drag multiple players back in. It adds a host of new ideas, with the Jerusalem and New York Horde maps prominent. There are also eight new Mutators dropping in to the Challenge Horde Mode, plus a new melee weapon in the form of The Baton. 

What’s more, Against All Odds lets you play as any of the characters found in World War Z: Aftermath across all PvE episodes. AI party members have also been improved, happily taking up arms with some heavy weapons to help you out. 

It’s the free update that will be of most interest to players, but should you find yourself going really deep with Aftermath, then you may also be interested in a couple of new DLC packs. You’ll find both the Deadly Vice Weapon Skin Pack and Rat Packs Weapon Skins Bundle kicking around on your favourite digital store for around $4.99 each. Four new weapon skins are included in each. 

Finally, World War Z: Aftermath players on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One can unlock a bonus  in-game weapon skin and exclusive collectible trinket when they register on PROS (Prism Ray  Online Services). PROS is a new platform powering online services for select upcoming games from Saber Interactive and a variety of other game providers.

If you have a copy of World War Z: Aftermath to hand on Xbox, PlayStation or PC, then fill your boots with the free Against All Odds update or new paid DLC packs.
