An awe-inspiring open environment looks to plays host to the acrobatic dogfighting escapades in The Falconeer and Wired Productions have just announced that it’ll land on Xbox One, as well as PC, in 2020. It’s even set to debut at the upcoming Xbox focused event, X019!
Created by independent developer Tomas Sala, with publishing duties handled by Wired Productions (GRIP: Combat Racing), The Falconeer takes you across land, air, and sea for a fantastical action-RPG. The Great Ursee is mystical world drowning in the corruption of the swollen oceans, with players taking their armed aerial mounts to the skies above in third-person perspective as a ‘Falconeer’. As an airborne and agile warrior, equipped with devastating ranged weaponry, your mission will be either a noble one or that of a rogue. You see, each player’s experience will be unique as they explore the bleak and hauntingly beautiful world, which is filled with wondrous locations and warmongering rival factions. The enemies within this world are vying for the mysterious secrets hidden at the Ursee’s unfathomable depths and so you’ll have them to contend with.
“We’re excited for fans to experience The Falconeer, a true gem that will set the bar for what indie developers can offer games,” said Leo Zullo. “From the beginning, we’ve been enamoured with this breath-taking aerial combat RPG, and are proud to be able to work collaboratively with Tomas, whose passion and talents can be seen in this beautiful and mesmerizing game.”
Those with an admiration for aerial combat should expect to be treated to a fluid and eye-catching open world experience in The Falconeer. The majestic mounts will control fluidly and freely with graceful flight, just as their bird of prey counterparts do; thus giving you a sense of freedom whilst being truly immersed in the Ursee’s simultaneously epic and hypnotic soundscape. And you’ll be able to witness this in the world’s first playable demo as it takes centre stage at X019, an event which takes place in London on 14th-16th November, 2019.
The Falconeer is currently scheduled for a launch on Xbox One and PC in 2020, but until then, feel free to check the latest trailer featuring actual gameplay footage!
