Can you work through the masterpiece of horror survival?

Launching now across Xbox, Game Pass, PC and Playstation is Amnesia: The Bunker, a first-person survival horror game. The game comes from Frictional Games, the makers of SOMA and previous Amnesia games – Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: Rebirth.

Go back in time to WW1

You are placed into the shoes of French soldier Henri Clément, the sole survivor in a desolate WW1 bunker with only one bullet remaining in his revolver gun and a noisy dynamo flashlight. In this intense horror experience, it’s up to you to attempt to escape the otherworldly terrors that prowl the bunker’s tunnels.

Scavenge and craft supplies to help you on your way, and use your courage and wits to carve a path to freedom. But, whatever you do, make sure you keep the lights on – you don’t want to end up alone in the dark.

Multiple ways of staying alive

Amnesia: The Bunker on Xbox, PlayStation and PC revolutionises the horror survival genre by prioritising player autonomy and exploration in a semi-open world. With its dynamic and unpredictable elements, each playthrough of the game offers a unique experience.

In this intense gameplay experience, you are constantly pursued by an ever-present threat that reacts to your every action and sound. To survive, you must constantly adapt your approach, braving the depths of hell. Every decision you make carries weight and shapes the game’s response. Be mindful, as your actions have far-reaching consequences.

Amnesia: The Bunker on Xbox is a truly horrifying experience

Only suitable for the more mature player, as shown by the way the developers have described the content ‘This game contains strong horror themes, gore (such as corpses), depictions of violence, and strong language’.

You can browse screenshots and the announcement trailer on the developer’s website – if you dare!

Game features

  • Unscripted environment – objects, threats, and resources, change in every playthrough
  • Adaptive horrid threats – an ever-present gruesome creature that stalks the player.

Amnesia: The Bunker is available to buy and download on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. For Xbox players it’s coming straight to Game Pass day one. That said, we’re currently not seeing that Game Pass love. Just keep checking the Store for an update.
