Ato
Ato is now available on Xbox

Play Ato on Xbox and you can be sure of one thing – you’re going to become a bit of a dab hand in the art of sword duelling. But not necessarily in ways you may think.

Head to Japan with Ato

Available to purchase, download and play right now on Xbox is Ato. It’s from the team at Tiny Warrior Games, as they deliver a tiny warrior gaming experience. Playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, it’s all priced pretty well too. I mean, that ÂŁ11.99 asking price is pretty tempting, no?

Consider what is on offer in Ato on Xbox, and that price gets better still. A game sest in Feudal Japan, it has you seemingly playing as a father, off on a quest to save his child from evil. It’s here where the atmospheric storytelling is promised, as cherry blossoms bloom, as the metroidvania elements start to come into focus.

Ultimately though, it’s about sword-swiping your way through an adventure. And that should be where Ato shines, as you take down foes, evade attacks and make the most of a host of abilities and skills.

Various difficulty options

What’s nice is that Tiny Warrior Games have included a few difficulty options too – we just know we’re going to be heading in on that ‘Assist’ mode. Our fingers aren’t as fast as they used to be.

  • Assist – For casual playthroughs
  • Accessible – Mid-range skill with slight challenge
  • Experienced – For veteran players who are familiar with difficult games

Ato Xbox Description

Ato is an Atmospheric, Metroidvania, Sword Dueling Game set in the Era of Feudal Japan. It tells a visually driven story about a father who has given up his past ways in order to live a life of peace with his wife and child. However this peace is soon disturbed as his child is taken from him…

In Ato, every combat encounter is an intense duel to the death. Perform risky parry manoeuvres, bounce off of your opponent, evade their attacks, and unlock new abilities to further expand your arsenal of options against your adversaries. Every combat encounter has its own personality and fighting style. Challenge, observe, and overcome each opponent you face as you strive to retrieve your child back from the clan you once served.

Explore colourful and atmospheric environments. Obtain new abilities to solve environmental puzzles. Uncover the mystery of this world and experience a story that is told without a single word.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
