Backflip into The Alto Collection on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4

-

The Alto Collection Xbox One

Endless runners usually evoke rapid gameplay, charging full pelt through whatever environment they are set in. But not in The Alto Collection by Team Alto, the new endless runner that launches today on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The Alto Collection is actually two games in one: Alto’s Adventure and Alto’s Odyssey. Adventure takes place on procedurally generated snowy mountains and previously released on Windows 10 back in 2016. Odyssey takes the same premise but adds in additional zones and wall riding.

With only one button to use, you play as a snowboarder travelling through beautiful landscapes with epic backdrops. These will be the first time both these games have been available on console.

Despite being endless runners, The Alto Collection features serene gameplay from Serenity Forge. Some of Serenity Forge’s previous offerings include the likes of Lifeless Planet, The King’s Bird and Where the Water Tastes Like Wine to give you an indication of what to expect.

These new for console versions will feature over 120 levels, 360 goals, seven unique characters and a ton of upgrades. There will also be online leaderboards and custom soundtracks for both Standard and Zen modes across both titles. With fully dynamic lighting and weather effects, you will be pleased to know there will be a photo mode to take some spectacular pictures during your runs.

A compendium of two of the most striking and beautiful mobile games, The Alto Collection is available now on the Xbox Store priced at £8.39. You’ll also find it on PS4 and PC. Will you be taking the plunge? Let us know in the comments below!

Game description

Join our mountain shepherd Alto and his friends as they set out on the adventure of a lifetime. Race down alpine hills, through ancient woodlands, windswept dunes, and the long forgotten ruins of both critically acclaimed titles: Alto’s Adventure, and Alto’s Odyssey. Along the way you’ll pull off daring backflips, hi-wire grinds and leaps over vast chasms – all while discovering what mysteries lie just over the crest of the next hill. An endless journey full of wonder awaits.
