‘Battle of Shadow and Light’ update for Halo 5 Guardians detailed

Later this month (indeed next week!), Halo 5 Guardians will be treated to some free content with the ‘Battle of Shadow and Light’ update sounding pretty damn lovely.

Bringing a new game mode, new weapons and new armor, Battle of Shadow and Light will include the super stealthy Shinobi ninja themed armor and some legendary Light Rifle firepower. Also included will be some new Ultra Rare and Legendary items, Tundra and Woodland themed skins and a Shove-It assassination!

But Big Team Battle is where the real money is and this should be more than recognizable to Halo fans. The cherry on top of the lovingly created cake, BTB will bring in elements and aspects of the first four maps in the mix, but all four have been significantly adjusted for the new mobility, weapons and features of Halo 5: Guardians. All will be available in both Customs and proper matchmaking, and present just a hint of the content featured in next month’s Forge mega-drop.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
