You’ve got to give it to Gearbox Software and 2K, they know how to do a trailer. And today, as Borderlands 3 is officially confirmed along with a host of other Borderlands goodies, the first reveal trailer is unveiled to the world. It’s an utter joy to watch too!

Debuting at PAX East where Gearbox and 2K have officially confirmed Borderlands 3, you can watch the very first trailer that confirms the continuation of the blockbusting franchise.

But that’s not all and whilst 2019 is now offically ‘The Year of Borderlands’ and more info surrounding Borderlands 3 will be revealed come 3rd April 2019, other Borderlands related news also hit home.

During their PAX East panel, Gearbox confirmed:

  • A brand new remastered edition of the original Borderlands called Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 3.
  • A free Ultra HD Texture Pack for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on consoles, as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 on PC, will also launch April 3.
  • All Borderlands 2 DLC will be added to Borderlands 2 VR for PlayStation VR for free this summer.

It’s looking like one hell of a year for Gearbox and in addition to confirming Borderlands 3, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition was announced. With brand new weapons, substantial visual upgrades, quality of life improvements, all four add-on packs, and more, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is the brand new definitive version of the award-winning 2009 first-person shooter/role-playing game hybrid Borderlands, with it becoming available on Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC on April 3rd 2019.

Further to that, HD updates are coming for the rest of the core Borderlands titles as well thanks to the Ultra HD Texture Pack. This free, optional download increases the visual fidelity of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and its DLC on consoles, and provides a visual upgrade for Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and all their DLC on PC.

And finally, Gearbox and 2K also revealed that all existing Borderlands 2 DLC will be added to Borderlands 2 VR on PlayStation VR in summer 2019 and will be free for all players.

So, what are your thoughts surrounding Borderlands 3? Excited much? Let us know in the comments below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
