For those of you looking to attend this year’s Gamescom, it’s just been announced that Sobaka Studio and BUKA Entertainment are taking their two upcoming games – Redeemer: Enhanced Edition and 9 Monkeys of Shaolin – to be played there. Would you like to know more about these titles?
Redeemer: Enhanced Edition is an intense, top-down action game which sees you taking on the role of a stern Russian guy named Vasily. Having spent years blackmailing, torturing and killing for his employers, Vasily wants out of all that dirty business. To do so though, he’ll need to eliminate the people sent to hunt him down in any way possible. You can kick the hell out of them, shoot them to pieces or smash their skulls using the environmental hazards – the choice is yours in the brutal combat that ensues. It even provides a game mode that allows a friend to join in co-op to work together to get retribution!
The other game, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, is akin to an old-school brawler and features a tale of Chinese fisherman Wei Cheng. After his friends and family are slaughtered during a pirate raid on the usually peaceful village, Wei sets out to avenge their deaths. Unfortunately for the baddies, Wei knows enough martial arts to handle a bit of combat and is pretty darn handy when wielding a battle staff. You’ll help him overcome hordes of varying enemies across more than 25 levels, seeing you fighting in villages, monasteries, mansions, and many more environments.
Should either Redeemer: Enhanced Edition or 9 Monkeys of Shaolin interest you – and you’re off to Gamescom – be sure to head on over to the Indie Arena booth (Hall 10.1 A20) in order to get some hands on with one or both of them.
