Super Volley Blast Review

With EA generally dominating the sports market each year, it’s hard to think that anyone else would really feel comfortable stepping into the ring to compete, especially a small independent studio. However, the guys over at Unfinished Pixel - those of Spy Chameleon acclaim - look to have relished the challenge, and with the sport of volleyball rarely catered for in gaming, they’ve gone all out to release a memorable volleyball experience with their latest title, Super Volley Blast. But does it hold the quality to prove a sporting success?

Hello Neighbor is back for more with Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, but does this prequel adventure have what it takes to maintain the excitement set within the series foundation?

Axis Football 2018 Review

Ever since ESPN NFL 2K5 put a serious dent in EA’s Madden sales due to its far superior gameplay, Madden has remained the only officially licensed NFL game on the market. Axis Football 2018 arrives on Xbox One – without a licence – but featuring a robust franchise mode where you can take any of the 36 teams on offer for a spin at winning the championship. But after dragging the Philadelphia Express through two seasons of the third tier of Axis Football, I can safely say that while Madden may still have its problems, it will be in no fear of losing the license to Axis Football any time soon.

Override: Mech City Brawl Review

I’m going to get straight into it here. Godzilla meets Transformers with a hint of Tekken. That’s what I was hoping for when I first saw, and then got hands on with, Override: Mech City Brawl. I expected something that could scratch the itch and reinvent the fun I used to have with the iconic brawler War of the Monsters back in the days of PS2.

The start of any year is always a relatively quiet one, but 2019 is looking to buck the usual trends and already we are set to experience a ton of new games this January. May as well add another one to the list then eh? How does a launch of JackQuest: Tale of the Sword suit you?

Donut County Review

Your time with Donut County will be bizarre to say the least.

TheXboxHub’s Xbox One Indie Games of the Year 2018

As the gaming industry gets bigger, the money that moves along with it increases too. And as the money gets larger the budgets get more extravagant - but unfortunately as shown by a number of AAA titles in 2018, that doesn’t necessarily mean the quality does. Thank god for the other end of the spectrum then; those games being created by the independent developers out there. Love, dedication and a willingness to create the best damn product possible are all standout features of this set of creators, and so it only makes sense to deliver an Indie GOTY award alongside the lists dominated by the blockbusters. But which are on TheXboxHub’s Xbox One Indie Game of the Year 2018 list?

Railway Empire – Great Britain & Ireland Review

I feel like I've been left working on the railroad a hell of a lot this year, travelling a fair few miles around America, Canada, and Mexico. I've seen the birth of the industrial revolution, traded furs and maple syrup, and all while still maintaining my fleet of engines, signals and water towers. Running an empire is hard work, and having to focus on the smallest attentions to detail and undertaking some pretty bold decision making is part of everyday life. But now with the latest DLC for Railway Empire we can go to where there they know a thing or two about creating a proper Empire… yes, this time round I get to go home… to Great Britain and Ireland.

Below Review

It has been a while since we first witnessed Below, at E3 2013. At the time, it was touted as a brutally difficult action adventure with roguelike elements. This premise got many players excited, including me, but who could've thought that Below would then be stuck in development for years. Fast forward half a decade later and Below has finally arrived on the Xbox storefront. While it seems to have delivered on most of its gameplay selling points, whether or not the world is worth exploring, is an entirely different question.

Shadows: Awakening – The Chromaton Chronicles Review

This new bit of content for Shadows: Awakening - The Chromaton Chronicles - is not really a bit of extra gameplay for the experts of the game, those who have levelled up and are waiting for a new challenge, though. No, it's a little smattering of DLC that is nestled near the beginning of the game

Plot a course to the Final Star on Xbox One

Battle Princess Madelyn Review

Battle Princess Madelyn has an interesting backstory. According to the website of developer Casual Bit Games, the creative director's daughter wanted to be in the classic Ghouls 'n Ghosts game. He told her that although he couldn't put her in that game, he could make her one of her own. That game is the one you see before you, a Ghouls 'n Ghosts homage with a female protagonist that harks back to the classic gameplay and graphics. But does replacing Arthur with Madelyn make this a better game, or is it just political correctness gone mad?
