The start of any year is always a relatively quiet one, but 2019 is looking to buck the usual trends and already we are set to experience a ton of new games this January. May as well add another one to the list then eh? How does a launch of JackQuest: Tale of the Sword suit you?
Coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, JackQuest: Tale of the Sword will be coming from the publishing arm of Blowfish Studios, and the development team at NX Games on January 24th 2019. Yes it may originally have been set for a late 2018 release, but better late than never eh?
A fast paced fantasy action platformer, JackQuest will see you slaying creatures and undertaking daring missions as you help Jack save his beloved Nara from the evil orc, Korg.
This will see you venturing into caves, and embarking on an epic journey to discover Kuro, a spirit imprisoned inside an enchanted blade. It is this unlikely duo of Jack and Kuro which will head into an underground labyrinth to liberate Nara, defeat her crazed captor, and perhaps even break the curse over Kuro.
JackQuest promises to provide quick combat, steady progression and enough secrets to keep the completionists out there busy for some time. But Speedrunning fans will also be happy as they traverse through a massive interconnected world, that plays host to environmental puzzles, invaluable power-ups, special abilities, and magnificent weapons to aide Jack in surviving Korg’s hideout and the denizens therein. You can throw in a number of colossal bosses that will need to be felled too.
“This is one of those games that I pick up and then can’t stop playing because I always feel like I do something meaningful each time I play,” said Ben Lee, CEO, Blowfish Studios. “JackQuest’s mix of fast-paced action and exploration makes it hard to put down, and it’s been an honor to work with NX Games to bring this game to life.”
