Chibig announces 3 new console and PC games

-

We’ve previously seen the indie publishing Chibig team provide players with the opportunity to get hands-on with the likes of Summer in Mara and Deiland: Pocket Planet. But with those in the past, they are now looking to the future and it is with that in which they’ve announced no less than 3 new PC and console games.

Announced at Chibig Presents, a mini-direct which allows the team get closer to their fans, Chibig have confirmed a new stealthy farming sim that has more than a hint of Stardew Valley about it, a fantasy coming-of-age adventure and a new puzzle-platformer which is set in the same world as Summer in Mara.

We’ll start with the stealthy farming sim and Elusive People will release on PC and console in 2023.

It’s a game in which players will need to learn how to survive in a world that is not particularly well designed for them. You see, you’ll need to grow food in a watering can, use spoons as spades and utilise the humble fork as a plough. You’ll need to trade too – not just with friends but also with enemies – as Elusive People combines farming, stealth and exploration in one big adventure.

The key features are…

  • A unique twist on the farming sim genre: your world is a house and your farm is a watering can. Are you resourceful enough to survive?
  • Tend to your crops in the safety of the basement, or plumb the riches of the house above.
  • Use stealth and speed to escape the claws of the housecat and the wrath of the homeowner.
  • Learn the hopes and dreams of your other tiny friends.

‘Elusive People is a small game full of big ideas,’ said Chibig CEO Abraham Riera. ‘I think players will really connect with these characters, who are underdogs in every sense of the word.’

And then we have Mika and the Witch’s Mountain – a coming-of-age adventure for all.

It has us following the life of an aspiring witch – Mika – as she looks to complete her training and make the most of her witchy powers. Earning the stripes needed is the call of the day, as is exploring a wonderful island sandbox and taking in the narrative that sits behind it. Throw in a ton of secrets and this witch-fuelled romp should well be one to check out when it hits Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC (Steam) later in 2022.

Features include:

  • A loving-made island sandbox to explore on your broom
  • Protect the packages from the elements as you fly around the island
  • Get to know the villagers, learning a new story with each delivery
  • Experience a heartwarming tale about growing up and making your own way
  • A short narrative-driven game with enough secrets to keep you coming back for more

‘Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is all about growing up, getting your first job, and finding your place in the world,’ said Chibig CEO Abraham Riera. ‘It’s a special little game, and I’m excited to show more of it soon!’

Finally we have a new puzzle-platformer that builds on Summer in Mara. It’s called Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara, giving us the chance to join Koa and he best friend Napopo on an action packed adventure. You see, it’s here where the pirate life is taking over and this duo are the only ones who can save the world that is under threat. With traps to work through, the most dangerous of environments to understand and a host of landscapes to uncover, we think that Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is looking to be a great little follow up.

It’s coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC through Steam in 2022, with the key features behind it sitting as follows…

  • A carefree puzzle-platformer set in the world of Summer in Mara
  • Customise your home hub between levels
  • Meet memorable new characters and reunite with old friends
  • Secrets and challenges and collectables oh my!
  • A joyous, colourful tribute to the 3D platformers of old

‘Returning to Mara with a completely different type of game makes for an interesting challenge,’ said Chibig CEO Abraham Riera. ‘However, I think the team nailed it. Koa and the Five Pirates manages to feel fresh and familiar at the same time. That’s no small accomplishment!’

In all, the Chibig team are going, well, big, in 2022. But what game are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below. You really should check out the trailers too.
