If nothing gets you more excited than the sound of leather on willow, and your idea of fun is found in taking a tea break every half hour, then it’s likely you’ll have great interest in the launch of Cricket 19: The Official Game of the Ashes on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Available to purchase and download right now on console – Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch – Cricket 19: The Official Game of the Ashes (or the much more manageable Cricket 19 as we’ll now be referring to it as), does pretty much what it says on the tin, providing the deepest, richest, most involving cricket game the world has ever seen.

It’s got a price tag to match too, with a cool £49.99 hanging from the stumps, ensuring that this may only really appeal to the hardcore cricket fans out there. Or at least those who are gearing themselves up for Ashes hype and glory. Because let’s admit it, no matter how much you may be tempted to give the pinnacle of cricket games a little tap and run, chances are that price will put off the fence sitters.

If you do decide to drop the bomb and go all in to hit a 6 or fire off a few 4s then Cricket 19 certainly looks capable to going all the way. Our hands-on with the game from a few weeks back should be taken in prior to you nailing a download, but from there on out Cricket 19 is ready to deliver the most authentic, realistic cricket action yet.

That means you’ll be able to choose your team and take them from also-rans to big hitters across T20, ODI and Test Match events, whilst running your own club and creating local matches is possible via the Cricket Academy. Further still, expect to see a story-driven career (much like The Journey in FIFA I guess), allowing you to take the greenest of recruits from the humble beginnings of club cricket, right up to leading the nation in the biggest games in the world.

Drop in highly detailed stadia, a scenario creator, real world AI and tactics and the biggy – fully licensed English and Australian teams – and you’ll fast understand how any cricket fan won’t be able to give Cricket 19: The Official Game of the 2019 Ashes a shot.

Is that person you? Well, if it is you’ll need to head to the Xbox Store in order to grab a copy of the game on Xbox One, whilst he PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop will sort out the PS4 and Switch hitters. Alternatively, get yourself a copy from Amazon. Should you be sat on the fence and unable to decide the toss of the coin then perhaps holding tight for our full review of Cricket 19 on Xbox One will be the way to go. We’ll have some thoughts dropping real soon.

A PC version will be available via Steam shortly after the console launch.
