Do you believe in yourself and think you’ve got what it takes to become the wealthiest person in the whole of Alaska? Prove it, in Gold Rush: The Game on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Gold Rush: The Game allows players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S the opportunity to head on out to work as a gold miner, digging deep, exploring every nook and cranny and taking home as much gold as you possibly can. It’s a simple process really – dig, explore, earn, repeat. It’s what we should all be doing in life in fact yet now we can take it in in virtual form.
It all starts off in the most simple fashion as you are thrust into a world with just a few spare bucks and tasked with getting on with it. From there it’s all about the rush to become a millionaire as the game plays out, putting you behind the wheel of a variety of vehicles like an excavator, a bulldozer and more as you look to improve your gold mining business.
Of course, things will go wrong, vehicles will break and that is where you’ll have to decide on what to do – will you pay out for better equipment in hope that it’ll see you striking lucky, or continue to struggle on with as much cash in your pocket as you can.
Features include:
- * Impressive machinery for mining & gold washing purposes.
- * Believable excavation with dynamic soil physics.
- * Multiple gear upgrades, malfunctions & realistic repairs.
- * Gold economy, worker employment, parcel rentals.
- * Day / night cycle with changing seasons & weather conditions
Gold Rush: The Game is based on the Discovery Channels smash-hit series and so if you’re a fan of that, or just want to go digging for treasure in the hope you can become richer than your wildest dreams, you should seriously consider a purchase of the game from the Xbox Store for Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. It’ll set you back £20.99
If you do, let us know how long it takes you to make your first million. Unless you’d prefer to try and do the same in space, in which case Deep Rock Galactic is more likely to be for you.
Game Description:
Become a gold miner. Work hard, dig deep, explore the world, and you’ll become the wealthiest person in Alaska. Use a variety of specialist machines to find as much gold as you can!
I have been playing this game on the PC for a few years and it is very rewarding, but only for players who like methodical simulation games like farm games or PC Build Sim, farm dynasty, etc.
It has deformable terrain in mining plots and you can start hand panning for gold in a stream and work your way up to dozens of machines working like an assembly line on each plot. You need to manage your money as you go along and keep some set aside for emergencies because bank loans should be an absolute last resort. On easier settings you won’t have a slow start but instead will find some large nuggets early on which will help you buy some.machines earlier than the normal start which will see you working the earth by hand for a couple of hours before mechanizing the effort.
I haven’t played this port yet but based on the amount of time they have put into it, I expect it is a pretty good indie port. I will be buying it this week for sure.
Thanks for another great article. I’m enjoying the site very much!
