If you can’t get to the biggest event of the summer, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, don’t worry because EA Sports will bring it to you!
Only if you’re stuck in the last generation though, sadly it has been announced that EA Sports FIFA 2014 World Cup Brazil is only on Xbox 360. With the dates set for 15th April (North America) and 17th April (Europe), the teaser trailer below makes no mention of it coming to Xbox One at all.
I wonder what improvements we will see following on from the successful FIFA 14… well a focus on set pieces is one of the main features. Allowing the player more control on the teammates movements using the directional pad. It seems adidas have brought their micoach workouts as a way for your players to improve skills during a competition which is something I’ve always felt the football games lacked on.
Game modes expected to feature are Road to FIFA World Cup where the aim is to take any team, from 203 on offer, through qualification and group stages of the World Cup in a bid to win it. A “Be A Captain” style mode also returns which will focus on you controlling one player. Others include a scenario mode featuring over 60 real-world scenarios from qualification and “Road to Rio de Janeiro” online mode that takes you through the host cities.
Of course there will also be challenges based on different events happening at the time that will change accordingly and an online World Cup focusing on just the group stage and knockouts. Plenty to do as usual but only time will tell if it’s a good idea to ignore the next-gen community and if they can implement enough new ideas to keep football fans enthralled during the summer.
